Stallion: Le Grand Lord

Le Grand Lord is a popular approved Holsteiner stallion.  Used since 1996, more than 50 of his offspring have competed successfully in showjumping at the national and international level.  Many have earned victories in both Category S and Grand Prix.

Le Grand Lord produces offspring with exeptional gaits, great expression and even temperament with a willingness to please.

Le Grand Lord's great grand sire is the famous foundation stallion, Lord. Lord won the stallion approval in 1969 and quickly became a successful sire. Lord’s progeny include some of the world’s top names, including Armerica I, Top Speed (Anne Kursinski), Indeed (Anne Kursinski), L’Eperon, Lordon, Lord Z, Latinus, Montanus, Jump, BB Comtessa, Elmshorn, Landsohn, Lord Caletto, Ligorett, and Lord Calypso, among many others.

Lord started his career one year after Landgraf I was licensed by Holstein. Lord, himself a skillful jumper, gained stardom overnight, when a young progeny, Livius, made such fantastic leaps in the Berlin Grand Prix that his rider, Peter Luther, could hardly stay in the saddle. A star was born in the Deutschlandhalle, but also in the stallion station of the Holsteiner Verband.

As producer of dams of licensed stallions, Lord earned his reputation with Amadeus, Classic Dream, and specifically, Freestyle, winner of the 1995 Aachen Grand Prix.

Lord's third generation sire, Ladykiller, has 41 approved sons that also includes Landgraf I, who has over 50 approved stallions and 70 state premium mares in Germany alone.
