Clear Round Show Jumpers Owner and Head Trainer, Paolo Tropia, began his career at age 13 with Swiss International Grand Prix rider, Beat Roethlisberger.  Paolo's first major career move was as a trainer with Willi Melliger, another Swiss Grand Prix rider and Silver Medalist at the Atlanta Olympic Games.  While working with  Melliger, Paolo received a job offer in Germany with show jumping icon, Paul Schockemoehle.  Internationally renowned as a four-time world champion aboard Deister, Schockemoehle also operated Germany's most prominent horse trading facility.  Schockemoehle's organization bred more than 300 horses annually and sold between 600 - 700 horses each year.

While under the tutelage of Schockemoehle, Paolo received another challenging offer in Germany from the Zweibruecker Horse Association where he was entrusted to prepare young horses for mare and stallion inspections. 

Paolo's other responsibilities included the training of young horses up to the Grand Prix level.

Paolo showed successfully at the Grand Prix level both nationally and internationally.  He also claimed the victory at Puissance at the final height of 2.15 meters, or 7' 3".  After six years with the Zweibruecker Association, Paolo met Stephanie.   Paolo qualified for a

professional athlete's visa in the US.  Eager for new challenges, he found the opportunity of emigrating to America a challenging prospect.  He joined Stephanie at Clear Round Show Jumpers as her partner.    In 2001 they were married.   

Paolo is the head trainer at Clear Round and is showing successfully at the Grand Prix level.  Paolo is currently training riders of all levels for competition and has several young Warmbloods in training.
